The one and only Betty C!

November 2019

Betty Crocker (aka Kim Burleson) is our November PAX spotlight! Read below to get to know this awesome lady even better. We are thankful for the commitment and leadership of Betty C!

1. Tell us about yourself!

My name is Kimberly. I am a stay at home mom of 4 children ranging from 20 years old to 10 years old. I graduated from Texas Women's University with a degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders (deaf Ed/Special Ed). I worked as a Special Ed teacher before deciding to stay at home with my babies! I've been married to Tim for 26 years. We attend Fellowship Memphis.

2. How did you hear about FIA?

I first heard about FiA from Facebook.

3. How did you get your FiA name?

I am named Betty Crocker because I like to cook and especially try new recipes!

4. What makes you keep coming back to FiA consistently?

I keep coming back to FIA for the great workouts and people! I enjoy variety when I exercise, and FIA delivers! Peer-led means that each workout is different and I usually get to learn something new about the Q's personality! I am not a morning person, but I do enjoy getting my workout done for the day! I also like that FIA gives you a nickname, which is easier for me to remember and it's fun!

5. Favorite thing about FiA:

My favorite thing about FIA,.... that is difficult!  Selfishly, it would have to be the accountability it gives me! I know I would not be able to get up and push myself on my own!!

6. Favorite Quote:

My favorite verse (another really difficult one!) is Psalm 19:14  "Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, o Lord, my rock and my Redeemer." I pray this over my family as we all head out the door in the morning! I want their actions and words to point to our Savior!

Community of women who are growing stronger and better together #memphisstrong

FIA is a free, peer-led, outdoor, all ladies fitness group. The workouts are full of variety and always a challenge for any fitness level. We meet year long with an exception to lightning or dangerous conditions outside our control. After the workout we join up for coffeeteria with the purpose of growing and developing new friendships and the community. It’s usually at a nearby coffee shop or in the parking lot where we just worked out. The mission of FiA (females in action) is simple. It’s a community of women whose mission is to make each other stronger in all areas of their lives with a focus on the body, mind, and heart. What are you waiting for?! Come try it out.
